Little Black Sambo begins as Little Black Sambo is given a red coat, blue pants, green umbrella, and purple shoes, from his parents (Black Mumbo, Black Jumbo). He went for a walk in the jungle, wearing his new and ravishing, bright and bold, clothes. Little Black Sambo was confronted by a series of tigers, one by one, each tiger takes a piece of his new clothes, inexchange to not eat him, concluding they are the grandest tiger in the jungle. Soon, Little Black Sambo's new clothes are on the tigers. Then he hears tigers bickering about who is grandest in the jungle, worried the tigers will come after him, Little Black Sambo climbs up a tree: the tigers remove the clothes, and begin to grasp each other's tails. Then, they chased each other around a tree until they are transformed into a pool of melted butter. Little Black Sambo climbs down the tree, hides behind the umbrella, puts his clothes back on, and him and Black Mumbo bring the butter home to Black Mumbo, who uses it to make pancakes.
The word Sambo is a racial term, with the apperance of Little Black Sambo and the name itself (Little Black Sambo); people have been controversy about the racism and the hints of slavery, due to color.The words were not demonstrating racism but he illustrations, and that's what lead people to be angry, that the illustrations were so rude and exampled a slave.
